GOOD START with a BAD ENDING

After a pretty successful summer at NZ and Chile I finally came back home again so I took a month off to charge my batteries and chill with my friends. I enjoyed it a lot but I was also super happy to go to Modena for the ShoGun Comp again. That comp is not super special but every year it’s really cool to hang out and have fun shredding the jump with your homies.

chilling hard at the Hotelroom with Marstl, Fabbro (trying to fly a heli) and Milz

And actually this time the riding level was also pretty high! Klaus Finne nailed a massive dub ten dub mute to the bottom of the landing on that tiny jump and deserved the win. McRae Williams got second with a switch dub ten and I landed on the thirth place with a dub 12 mute.

The BestTrick comp was going on the next day where I tried to do dub 14 but I was spinning to much so I landed the 16 on my feet but I couldn’t ski it out :) Anyway I was lucky enough to win with the dub 12. :)

after the best trick comp, ready to drive home

That weekend made me want to ski so much so I head up to Val Senales a few days after and just after some runs I had a pretty deamn stupid and bad crash. The Doc of the resort told me that it’s nothing serious… all the ligaments should be fine… my knee just got a little twist… it got me really excited that it’s nothing serious but after the magnetic resonance it turned out to be serious! My ACL and meniscus is broken, a piece of the bone broke off and the cartilage is injured.

It was kinda pain in the ass to cancel all the plans I had for the season. :) But never mind. The Physiotherapy is already on and on the 13th of December I’ll have the surgery at Innsbruck. I got some plans to judge at the Linecatcher and other comps also I’ll film a bit for F-Tech and probably for a new super innovative European movie project so I’m pretty stoked. And for sure I’ll train hard to get strong again! A big “thank you” goes to all my sponsors which are supporting me through all this!
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!! :)

Freestyle.CH, IF3 & home sweet home

Right after Chile i met my friends from F-Tech for a couple of days for a surf at Fuerteventura. We had a great time there even if the swell was kinda lame and i broke a surfboard in the middle but I couldn't wait to go to Zürich.
On the way!

Unfortunately my skibag was totally lost somewhere between Fuerte and Zürich and I didn't get it for the whole weekend so I was skiing the first time with tight pants in my life, which where my favorite jeans. I got qualified on the edge as 8th. For the crossoversession I fortunately got some skipants. It was such a great feeling to make the crowd going crazy with our rapid-fire!

At the next day the finals where on the program. I got pretty good points for my dub twelve which I was super happy about but for the style trick I had to try it really hard so I tried to do four different once which was flat 5 bow'n arrow, cork 3 shifty, zerospin and right 5 reverse mute but none of them got good enough points so I got sixth at the end. About an hour after the comp I got a phone call from the Zürich Airport. Guess what.... my package arrived! :)

One week later me and my friend Franz went together to Annecy for the IF3. I did never expect that Annecy was such a nice City and both of the cinemas where completely full all the time! There was also a big tent next to the cinema with all the stands of the different brands. Some signing sessions where going on and I think I never did so many signatures. It was a good practice so my signature looks at least acceptable now! Btw. also the parties where the banger!

And now finally I’m back home! I've been skating and trampolining a lot the last days with my homies and also I went to the GYM once in a while to get my knee strong. And right now the winter says hallo! It's snowing in town! ;)

It's pretty hard to say it..... goodbye chile :'-(

Chile! An amazing country with a never ending coast, beautiful girls and incredible mountains.
Around Santiago, in the middle of this crazy country, we had the chance to compete at the Swatch Skiers Cup! And if that's not enough i can also be proud to be a part of the Team Europe, the winning team ;) !!!!

After the 6:2 for Europe at the Freeride day, the Freestyle day was on the program. Fortunately i landed my first run and won the point against Matt Margetts and the score was 10:6. So we had to get at least 3 more points at the second run for the victory. No one else as Kaj Zackrisson, our captain, got that third point right in front of me so i had no pressure anymore and I went for it. I landed the right 5 reverse mute to switch bio 9 at the first two obstacles but then i crashed at the switch right 5 witch was pretty lame :D So Rory Bushfield won that point for America with a sick run.

Richard Permin won the last Head and the score was 14:10. We couldn't have benn happier to bring the trophy of the very first year home! :) thanks http://www.skierscup.com/

6:2 for Europe! What else!

The first couple of days here in Chile passed by pretty quick and we've been chilling a lot here in the awesome W Hotel, had a great surf yesterday at the coast and made 6 points out of 8 at the Big Mountain day! Hell Yeah!!

Kaj picked me to ride against Josh Bibby and I knew that I had to scope a good line if I want to beat him and I saw to couloirs’ after each other but I didn't see it from the bottom and it seemed super sketchy so I scoped another line. On the way up on the top I saw the couloirs line again and I went for it and it worked out J Team Europe takes the lead!

After a great surf day yesterday we are ready for the freestyle day!

goodbye NZ! buenos dias CHILE!

The trip to NZ was definitely a big success! I had a great time at the World Heli Challenge and ended up first at the freestyle day. After that, the Winter Games where on the Timetable but unfortunately I didn’t compete… My knee was feeling bad so I chilled for a week and made it stronger!

After the games and a big party, Fabbro Matthias, Lukas Schäfer, and I went up north to the Club Fields to catch some POW and shoot with Sean Balmer and Fabrice Wittner for the next Downdays Digi-Mag. Unfortunately the snow was pretty bad but with lots of hiking we found some funny spots and one cool line!

If some of you guys come to New Zealand you should definitely go to the Westcoast and check out the Glaciers and the Rainforest! We went there on the way back to Wanaka and it was simply amazing.

Back at Snowpark I had the pleasure to shoot up on Snowpark with a Red Bull Heli and the Völkl Wall of 2013 which should be a secret. Right the day after the NZ Open started and I got second at the semi finals. The parkshapers had to change some obstacles again because it didn’t really work out and I had lots of problems to figure out a good run. I couldn’t get my head clear and crashed on every final run…

As the finals where over we drove straight to Queenstown to catch my flight at 5pm! And now finally I’m chilling here in the incredible W Hotel at Santiago de Chile with my buddy Nicolas Vuignier!
